This photo was taken in Iceland in 2015 by Acacia McLean. The dark moody cloud of the sky really bring the black sand of the valley and the snow capped mountains to life. I love how dark and mysterious this photo feels while enchanting and breathtaking at the same time.
This photo was difficult to capture on my trip as the wind was crazy up here and the rain was blowing right onto my lens. I persevered and managed to capture this stunning photo that makes you feel your in the set of a movie in a enchanting place. This specific area was miles from any town and looked like barren land for miles surrounding this location. I was taken to this location as part of a stop on a small few person jeep day trip tour in the Hekla and Landmannalaugar areas of Iceland. It made for a much more personalized and private viewing of area which allowed to less people and better opportunities to capture photos in unique areas.
Iceland itself feels so unreal in the amazing and unique scenery it offers and I feel so blessed to have been able to experience the awe an wonder of it myself first hand.
